1. The healing benefits of massage
“Safe and consensual skin-to-skin contact supports physical, emotional, and mental health.”
We are living in very exciting times when the physical existence is more comfortable than ever before. But as everything – modern life itself as well – has its own benefits, in the mean time it takes the toll on our health. The constant stress and worry accumulate toxins in our system. The best, easiest and most natural remedy is massage.
Regular massage (once, twice a week; even daily self-massage) prevent the development of skin disorders, increases stamina, patience, self-confidence, intelligence, physical beauty. Massage can stop premature ageing, reduce wrinkles, tone muscles, restores agility in the joints. Makes the skin smooth, strengthen the nerves and the immune system.
It is increasing the production of white blood cells and antibodies, which – strengthening the immune system, the defense mechanism of the body – provides resistance against viruses and diseases produces by infections.
And I did not even mentioned that by these days many studies have been performed on the healing power of touch. Yes, there are measurable change happens in the patterns of brain activity during touch. Certain types of endorphins are released. These endorphins combat stress hormones, resulting in a sense of relaxation and peace.
2. About the massage you will receive
“Zsuzsa’s massage is not a regular massage. It is truly a deep therapy.”
We are all different. With different bodies, with different needs. Even our needs are changing moments by moments. When I give massage I love to meet the need of the body of the person front of me and intuitively pick from my carefully carved toolbox and create the massage which is YOURS, serving YOUR needs in the very moment. Which means, none of the two massages will be the same.
The mixture of ayurvedic, ayurvedic yoga, deep tissue, maya abdominal massage, acupressure point activation will be uniquely tailored for YOU, on the spot. Can I offer to make it even more special?! The activated Reiki energy (universal healing energy) will deepen your experience and offer even more profound support for your body and heart on your healing journey.
By the end of the massage you might feel reborn – as your body is ready to release toxins, the blood flow is activated, the energy flow is alive and thanks for the deeper manipulation through the acupressure points the body released endorphin which helps to feel the joy of life.
What else we can give for ourselves than listening, deep care and attentive love?!
3. Couple of words about the different techniques
Ayurvedic massage
– as thought by Gagori Aithein at Aithein Massage School, India –
Ayurveda is a traditional Indian system of medicine, which originated 3000BC. The meaning of the word is: “the science of life”. The aim of ayurveda is to ENJOY the state of freedom from ailments.
I fall in love with ayurveda because it is easy to follow only using your common sense, because it based on the rules of the nature. The main pillars of it:
- seeing the whole person not just certain parts of the body
- everything is created by the five elements (Ether, Air, Fire, Water, Earth)
- focuses on the individual – does not apply one rule for everyone
- treating the root cause of the disease
- food is medicine
- 99% of the diseases are psychosomatic
In my massage you will find elements of Abhyanga (full body massage), Shiro Abhyanga (traditional indian head and shoulder massage), Mukha (face) massage, foot massage.
Ayurvedic Yoga Massage
– as thought by Ananta Sylvain Girard at ARYM Institute, London –
As this massage is provided on the floor on a soft mattress, it taught me the technique how to work with a client if there is no massage table around. To use my body weight more effectively, and add some gentle push or pulls for the body if it is needed.
3-in-1 deep tissue massage
– as taught by Maria Eugenia Gobbato, Guatemala –
This massage mixes elements of three techniques – deep tissue massage, reflexology and acupressure.
The massage builds up slowly. Working on the surface level first, “warming up”, preparing the body for working on the deeper layer of muscles. This is the time when we detect the areas which need more attention because of tension, pain, sensitivity.
(Deep tissue massage)
Then we work with the deeper layer of muscles and fascia on the targeted area. Using fingertips, elbows, forearm we increase the pressure to release chronic tension, promote faster healing by increasing blood flow. If you do not like super strong stimulation do not worry as I always ask your feedback regarding the pressure.
(Acupressure point release)
According to traditional Chinese medicine we have meridians, energy channels throughout the body, where life energy runs along. When it become stuck we have pain, constipation, depression, skin problems and so on. The goal of acupressure is to keep the energy flowing using pressure at specific points.
(Reflexology)
Stimulates the organs, glands, tissues, muscles and all body parts massaging the feet, the hands and the ears. Each stimulation/reflex point causes a corresponding effect in the body. Reflexology activating the lymphatic system so cleansing the body as the toxins getting released faster.
Maya Abdominal Massage
– as taught by Maria Eugenia Gobbato at Sobada Maya Abdominal Massage, Guatemala-
This technique of abdominal bodywork, which is an external non-invasive manipulation that repositions internal organs that have shifted, thereby restricting the flow of blood, lymph, nerve and chi. It is a treatment that is widely practiced among the Curanderos (healers) and Midwives of Belize, Guatemala and Mexico.
As we all store emotions in our body, we hold tremendous amount of buried memories in the abdominal region as well. The massage can bring up some not healed emotions.
Not recommended if you are pregnant, on your moon days, have cancer, have IUD, had any recent abdominal surgery or you were giving birth.
